Jessica Akins is an appellate specialist with over 25 years of experience in complex state and federal matters. Over the course of her career, she has personally authored more than 400 briefs in both state and federal appellate courts and presented extensive oral arguments. Her practice emphasizes complex appellate cases in the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, electronic litigation, and e-discovery data management.

Federal & State Service

Prior to entering private practice, Jessica served for 8 years with the Department of Justice as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, split between the Houston and Denver offices. Before her federal service, she spent 12 years as an Assistant District Attorney focusing strictly on appellate criminal law in Harris County, Texas.
